Legal and Other Requirements

Clause 4.3.2 “Legal and other requirements”—Requires an  organization to establish, implement and maintain a procedure(s) to:

• Identify and have access to applicable legal requirements and other requirements to which they scribe related to its environmental aspects

• Determine how these requirements apply to its environmental aspects.

Legal Requirements

Legal requirements my include:

Legislation, including statues and regulations

Decrees and directives

Permits

Licenses and other forms of authorization

Order issued by requatory agencies

Judgments of courts or administrative tribunals

Customary or indigenous law

Treaties

Conventions

Protocols

In order to track legal requirements, an up-to date list will be established and maintained.

Other Requirements

Organizations may also subscribe voluntary to "other requirements" that apply to its products, services and activities.

Other requirements my include:

Agreements with public authorities

Agreements with customers

Non-regularly guidelines

Voluntary principles or codes of practice

Voluntary environmental labeling or product stewardship commitments

Requirements of trade associations

Agreements with community groups or non-governmental organizations

Public commitments of the organization or its parent organization

Corporate / company requirements

This will be accomplished by generating a list of other requirements to which your organization subscribes and maintaining it.
